LyoSpeed

Traditional concentration to dryness in a Genevac evaporator is fast and safe, however for some users a dried film is not the best fit for their requirements. Dry powders can be easier to weigh and re-dissolve than a dry film, and so are preferred for some applications. Additionally, when working with certain solvents such as HPLC fractions, a fully dried result can be hard to achieve due to interactions with the dissolved sample – resulting in the formation of a gum or oil.

In response to customer demand Genevac developed a Fast Lyophilisation process to resolve these problems for customers, particularly when working with HPLC solvents. Using LyoSpeed methods on Genevac EZ-2 Elite and Series 3 HT evaporators, HPLC fractions can be automatically concentrated to a few millilitres and then frozen and rapidly lyophilised to produce a diffuse dry powder, which can easily be re-dissolved or weighed out

Dri-Pure

Genevac’s patented Dri-Pure® sample protection system prevents foaming, cross-contamination and sample loss due to bumping and is fitted as standard on EZ-2, Rocket Synergy Series, and Series 3 HT evaporators.

A study carried out at GlaxoWellcome UK demonstrates the value of Genevac’s unique Dri-Pure® anti-bumping system. Dri-Pure® was shown to prevent solvent bumping from occurring in all the samples tested. DriPure – An Evaluation by Glaxo Wellcome

Foaming can be an issue when evaporating large solvent volumes especially when working with natural product extracts. Dri-Pure technology on the Rocket and Rocket 4D Synergy has been shown to prevent foaming and eliminate the user intervention often required when evaporating problematic samples using a rotary evaporator.

SpeedTrap

The SpeedTrap, as seen on the EZ-2 and miVac, is a unique frost free cold trap suitable for use with a wide range of solvents, from volatile organic solvents through to water and some of the higher boiling point solvents.

  • No defrosting required
  • Easy to empty – collection jar is removed by quarter turn

The miVac SpeedTrap module is a compact unit requiring little bench space and is also suitable for connection to other concentrators.

SampleGuard™

SampleGuard™ temperature control found on HT systems, protects samples from any possibility of overheating when evaporation is complete, removing the need for time consuming method development.

Comprising up to four thermocouples and a unique sample temperature wireless transmitter, SampleGuard™ provides real time feedback, thus allowing accurate control of actual sample temperatures.

SampleGuard™ probes can measure temperature at any point in the sample holder including the sample itself. Either one or two probes can be used to accurately and reliably determine end-of-run, enabling the system to be easily set for optimal performance and automatic shutdown, ideal for the multi-user environment.

SampleShield™

 

SampleShield™ temperature control, on the EZ-2 Series, monitors and controls the maximum temperature of the sample holders using an infra red pyrometer. This removes the need for temperature probes and makes loading easier.

SampleShield™ ensures the fastest evaporation rate whilst protecting samples from any possibility of overheating; allowing accurate and reliably determination of end-of-run.

CoolHeat

 

High efficiency CoolHeat® infra red lamps provide the heat energy required for rapid evaporation and heat the samples uniformly.

The heat can be controlled and switched off automatically before samples are dry to ensure their integrity. Samples dry rapidly while the high speed vapor pumping system maintains low sample temperatures during evaporation
